Well in to those who genuinely wished Rodgers luck without crossing their fingers while they said it. 

 

Coutinho scoring the winner moments before he was to be dragged is one of those things that happen. He'd not had his best game up until then, so it was hardly a matter of it being a crazy substitution. 

 

What if Gomez hadn't properly controlled that ball on the sideline and it went out for a Stoke throw-in? Then the sub was effected right before he was to pass it to little Phil?
