Baffles me that people who don't rate "Kid A" love "Amnesiac". I actuallyreally like "Kid A", i think it's a much more cohesive album than "Amnesiac", yet both are really cut from the same cloth (and recording sessions).

If you really want to listen to a bonkers Scott Walker record then try "Bisch Bosch".

Random musings. Oasis are the most over-rated band in history. "Illmatic" by Nas is the best hip hop record ever. "Rio" by Duran Duran is an absolute belter of an album.

Bisch Bosh is actually Scott Walker's most refrained record of the past ten years. Tilt and The Drift actually make it sound relatively 'normal'.

"Epizootics!" gives me the fear.

Have you heard the stuff he has done with Sunn O ))) ?

I haven't mate, the length of some of the 'songs' have put me off, on average they're ten minutes long. I gave up on the Swans album for the same reason. The older I get, the shorter my attention span is.

I will try and give it a listen when I'm in the mood.

I like all the Radiohead albums really, except for one that I never really got. Can't remember the name, something about a Thief. Pablo Honey isn't the best either of course. Of the others, I still think I prefer The Bends. But the rest are all very good. Kid A seems to split opinion but I've always liked it a lot

The last one wasn't very good I thought.

I'm holding back, as i haven't heard anything from it yet. Will get on Spotify later and give it a go.

Interesting. I'd say Think Tank is by far their most experimental album and yet you prefer Radioheads more conventional works in Bends and OKC.

My Blur favorite would be 13.

Yeah it's strange, Think Tank is a beautiful melancholic record, 13 is a very good album too. I like lots of individual Radiohead tracks on all their records but i'd probably say my favourite of the modern albums is Hail to the Thief, it's more cohesive.

I didn't see Jack Bruce who died at the weekend get a mention anywhere . Probably just old farts like me remember him.

Brilliant bassist and a giant back in his day .  RIP

Sorry if its been posted already

There was a thread on Saturday night, mate.

I had my Tony Williams Lifetime CDs on over the weekend, Jack Bruce will be sadly missed.

Thought it might prove interesting to put a few things out there and just see where it takes us. Like I said, random.

Sugar's Copper Blue is one of the best pop albums ever recorded.

Karate are one of my favourite bands and they should have been massive.

As much as I love Radiohead, I still find Kid A unlistenable.

Dave Gilmour's 2nd solo in Comfortably Numb (from Floyd's live Pulse album) is the greatest guitar solo ever.

The Police's best song is The Bed's Too Big Without You.

Shane MacGowan is a brilliant singer.

Metallica would be a far better band without both Kirk and Lars.

Kid A is unlistenable, no arguments there.

I think The National Anthem is one of their best ever songs. The bass is fucking brilliant and I love the jazz improvisation stuff on there from the horns too.
