They had a warrant as certain paperwork was missing and they had sufficient evidence that a sum of money had gone missing over a few transfers. Involving a few agents that was the real purpose of the warrant from the High Court. Double payments and that sort of stuff.

Basically it was fraud they were looking for but anything else was a bonus.

That's a great idea Lizzie... Mackay needs to be brought into the Big Brother house to a chorus of boo's and then quickly ushered into a small locked room with Gary Busey.

Gary can then regale him with his story of the near death car crash that almost claimed his life and how he's developed a subsequent supernatural ability to speak with angels. Only Gary keeps forgetting the story and retelling it, over and over, as Mackey must fain interest A. to garner public support and B. because otherwise Busey will kill him.

I think the papers are getting carried away. It may be difficult for any action to be taken against him. The LMA statement (once you read past the word 'banter') makes it clear that he says there were only two texts (non-homophobic) and that they were between him and another employee. They may have been sent on a work phone, but it was a private conversation,  and he hasn't made a remark to any offended third party. As he's already been dismissed from employment so I can't see what else the PL can do. You can't deal with someone for an opinion they hold or express in a private conversation. The only way they could deal with him is if the Somali lad makes a complaint, surely?

The fraud is another matter.

Yeah, the small matter of the 40mil

Alleged (got your back, Dave). I'm sure Mackay, if his monetary advisors are in any way useful, has an offshore rememberance fund for his dead pet dog, and no doubt doesn't know how it works. He may struggle to sell the fact that he doesn't even know how to use email or text to a jury, though.

Get the popcorn and enjoy as the LMA are tagged as institutional racists. Noone does faux outrage better than Henry Winter. The LMA gang are taking a bit of a kicking.

League Managers’ Association look like bumbling dinosaurs after statement defending Malky Mackay

But at 7.41pm on Thursday, the LMA took a step back in time, almost back to the days of institutionalised racism. The LMA appeared out of touch and out of order.

Dissecting a statement that instantly triggered widespread disgust almost requires protective gloves and sterilised tweezers. Where to start? It stank from first paragraph to last. Mackay was a popular, talented manager but some things are indefensible.

There was more. “Letting off steam”? How can indulging in intolerance be deemed a legitimate means of relaxation? The LMA was not constructing a defence here but digging a hole. It got deeper and deeper, reaching the low of explaining away the racism as “some friendly text message banter”. Ah, banter, that first refuge of the scoundrel.

Oh I think they were talking about her teeth.

Any one got an idea of who's "falsies" he was talking about. Right or wrong that was my first reaction.... "Is she fit?"

Possibly Georgina Lillis. Only picture I could find of a decent size relates to the website of a paper we all hate, so sorry, no pic.
