Desparately sad they havent been able to locate this for the families. Dont think they've actively been looking for a few years although a British guy says he has narrowed the search area due to using some radar \ electro magnetic wizardry. He doesnt appear to be a crank either.

People say how can you not find an airliner and a big one at that? But if it's in thousands of pieces 4 or 5 miles under the sea it would be like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack.

I think they narrowed the search down to about 3 million km² which is impressive.

Said that salvage hunters were happy to search on a no-find / no-fee basis but have been waiting for authorisation for over 6 months from the Malaysian authorities, which suggests they don't really want it found.
