Full time - Spurs 1 Liverpool 0

A game with plenty of niggle, probably spilling over from yesterday's first team fixture.

We were miles off the pace for the first 15-20 minutes of the second half and Spurs deservedly got their lead.

We're then reduced to 10 after Lallana completely loses his head and gets himself sent off. Foul on him or not, he should not be reacting the way he did. He's let himself and his team mates down tonight.

Credit our lads though, as the sending off actually seemed to drive us on and we were the better side for the last 15-20 minutes, even when we were further reduced to 9 for Johnston's dismissal following 2 bookings.

Thought Solanke looked devoid of confidence and could certainly do with more games down at the 23's level, rather than being sat on the bench for the first team.

Ings worked his socks off all game, and a couple of times stayed down that little bit longer than you'd want after he'd has his ankles hacked.

Liam Millar was pacey and direct when he came off the bench as he looked to make an impact.

The new lad Gallacher looked a bundle of nerves in the first half, but did calm down as the game went on.

Finally, Kamil Grabara is a real top goalkeeping prospect. This lad could have a really big future. Excellent again tonight.

As far as I remember, only for domestic fixtures.

Seeing a lot of tweets for when Wilshire was sent off for Arsenal's 23s. His suspension was only for the 23s level.

I always thought that suspensions picked up at the reserve level were carried up the chain as well, however, it appears that this might not be the case.

Lallana does however deserve a suspension for that tonight, in my opinion. Absolutely no need for him to react the way he did, regardless of how frustrated he might have been with the challenge on him.

So Ings, Solanke and Lallanna all start and don't make much impact on an under 23 game, hmmm.

There were times initially when they looked a cut above and might have scored some quality link-up goals. But when the ball didn’t hit the net, they seemed to get frustrated, tense, and a bit lost.

Spurs seemed to have the Fiji back row in defence, quick and strong they got a toe to a few things when it looked like we were going to pull the trigger.

But if I was Klopp I would be concerned about it.

Woodburn was the best player on the park.

Half time - Everton 3 Liverpool 1

The scoreline is a bit deceptive. We've been the better side, but just haven't defended well when the Blue Noses have ventured out of their penalty area.

The first goal was the usual awful defending from a set piece that Grabara almost kept out. Their second was an effort that Grabara collects with ease 99 times out 100. The third was a very soft goal to concede, we allowed them far too much space around our penalty area.

McAuley has had a few good opportunities in the first 45, and couldn't miss with his effort on hte stroke of half time.
