Im now off any oxygen support but still have a couple of drains in my stomach to get rid of the shit that builds up. I can eat and drink which is great. Still a long way to go as i cant sit up on my own let alone stand.4 months in bed isnt great for keeping muscle.

Was thinking about emailing her myself earlier. Do any forumites know about this kind of illness? What kind of time frame will he be looking at for a full recovery?

The missus' Aunt had the exact same thing and was in for about four to five months overall. In that time they tried to discharge her but there was always some sort of problem that ended up with her going back in to hospital. She's well on the mend now; it's just something that really does take time to convalesce.
