Roberto Firmino has left a heartfelt message on Facebook after the departure of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

Coutinho completed a £142million transfer to Barcelona on Monday, leaving his Brazilian compatriot Firmino behind at Anfield.

The pair had become good friends off the pitch as well as developing a telepathic understanding on the field and Firmino says he will be sad to see Coutinho leave.

Coutinho was the best man at Firmino’s  wedding in Brazil last summer.

Firmino claimed Liverpool “is no longer the same” after Coutinho was finally granted his wish of a move to Barcelona.

Fala meu parca, poxa Liverpool já não é o mesmo without the magical 1f9d9_200d_2640.png‍♀Mano , Desejo o infinito de Sucesso pra você, que você desfrute a Vida. e realize todos os teus sonhos irmão!! “Liverpool is no longer the same without you my magical brother,” Firmino posted on Facebook.

“I wish you infinite success, that you enjoy life and realise all your dreams brother. “God is always protecting you and your whole family. It was an honour to play with a wizard like you.”

The breakdown of Philippe Coutinho’s £142million transfer fee has been revealed, with £36million in attainable add-ons.

The Brazilian sealed his move from Liverpool to Barcelona over the weekend on a five-and-a-half-year, £12.1million a season deal with a €400million (£355m) buyout clause.

Barca’s sporting director Jordi Mestre claimed they had got a good deal with reports Liverpool had dropped their asking price from a reported €200million to enable the deal to go through.

Still, the £142million transfer is the second highest deal in history, behind Neymar’s €222million summer move from Barcelona to PSG.

Barca failed with three bids in the summer for Coutinho, with the third bid believed to be in the region of £114million. However, there were suggestions that Barca had included some pretty ridiculous add-ons as part of the deal, such as Coutinho winning the Ballon d’Or.

Liverpool were not keen, but Barca returned this month with £106million for the initial transfer – and that may not be paid in one lump sum – along with several more feasible additions.

The Guardian report that half of the £36million add-on fees will come from appearance milestones, with the other half based on Barcelona’s European exploits.

The £36m breakdown in full:

£18million for Coutinho’s first 100 matches for Barca – they will pay £4.5m at each 25-match interval to total £18m

£4.5m due if Barca qualify for 2018/19 Champions League

Another £4.5m if they qualify for the 19/20 Champions League

A further £4.5m for winning the Champions League in 18/19

And £4.5m again if they win the Champions League again in 19/20

Roberto Firmino - Liverpool 'no longer the same' without Philippe Coutinho

Fellow Brazilian says farewell to his great friend and team-mate

Roberto Firmino says Liverpool "is no longer the same" following the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

Coutinho completed a £142million transfer to the Camp Nou on Monday after the Reds reluctantly agreed to grant him his dream move.As well as striking up a great understanding with his fellow countryman on the field, Firmino was also close friends with Coutinho off the pitch.

Coutinho was the best man when Firmino married his long-term girlfriend Larissa Peereira in Maceio in Brazil last summer. Their families were often seen out socialising together in Liverpool.

Firmino admits the 25-year-old will be sorely missed.

"Liverpool is no longer the same without you my magical brother," Firmino posted on Facebook.

"I wish you infinite success, that you enjoy life and realise all your dreams brother. "God is always protecting you and your whole family. It was an honour to play with a magician like you."

Andy Hunter @AHunterGuardian

Klopp on why #lfc sold Coutinho now: "Because there was no other option. We had a contract but would have been difficult to keep him for 2nd half of season. Could he have helped us still? 100% clear no chance. Clear he wasn't ready to do that anymore."

Klopp the cuck.

See, even when Klopp confirms what was obvious you've still got people trying to spin it like there is something else going on.

What can you do.

I'm not spinning anything. I'm asking what people expect him to say? What he says today proves or disproves nothing, because even if we could have kept him, he would never admit that. Just like a week or so ago when asked klopp said Coutinho would be fit to play city when the cunt was on his way to his hotel room in London to move to Barcelona. They tell the press what they think fans want to hear. They're never going to say "the money was just too good, so we thought," fuck it, sell him""

I'll tell you what is obvious, Coutinho has been absolutely top drawer since he apparently downed tools at the start of the season.

But there is, something going on. You only have to read this article to see that between those lines, a dastardly plan is being spun and everyone at the club is in on it.

Kloppo's got the best poker face in the game. He's hiding his anger towards FSG masterfully.

I have a theory that the £12m that Coutinho reportedly paid out of his own pocket was the fee Leipzig wanted to move up the Keita deal.

Think about it. How often have you ever heard of a player putting his own money into a deal to leave a club? It probably happens under the radar from time to time but it's definitely not the norm.

I can easily imagine a scenario where we agreed the basics of a £130m move with Barca for the summer, but then Coutinho kicked up a fuss about having to stay. It got so out of hand that Klopp & Edwards asked Leipzig how much they'd want to move up the Keita deal to January and when they said £12m they gave Coutinho the chance to pay it out of his pocket.

Now, obviously, we'll probably never know if this is true or not but I think it very well could be. And in fact the increase in fee might be more than £12m in the end; I could see the club saying "it's worth £5m to us to have Keita in January, you add £12m and we'll give the whole £17m to Leipzig to make it happen" or something similar.

Not sure if this has already been posted but it is Kloppo words on Phil going.

From Telegraph...

Jurgen Klopp says he sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona because he could not be sure of the Brazilian’s ‘100 per cent’ commitment to Liverpool for the rest of the season.

The Liverpool manager offered an in-depth explanation for his club’s decision to accept a £142 million sale to the La Liga club and confirmed he will have the chance to reinvest every penny of the fee ‘and more’.

Klopp said the move would have been blocked had he instructed his owners, Fenway Sports Group, to keep the player. But after continued discussions Klopp felt Coutinho had to go.

“It was just clear after we spoke that it would not work out. We knew it when the club tried everything,” said Klopp.

“We had a lot of talks about different things, how we can do this or that, but if somebody denies things like that then it is clear the decision is done. At some point you need to accept it and that is what we did. I can imagine what people have said and written this week and I would think similar if we as a club had not tried everything. If the club said after the first call 'good idea, we wanted to call you actually because we don't want to have him' then it would be different.

“But we tried everything. If anybody would say afterwards it's because he didn't fight enough, they will never know 100 per cent all the information.

Klopp says Liverpool have to improve, whether or not Coutinho is replaced

“You cannot use him if he's not 100 per cent. Philippe Coutinho is a world class player but if he's not 100 per cent, he's not that international class or Premier League class. You lose the grip. If you get an injury, if something happens in a game - you miss a ball, stuff like that - you think: 'I would love to miss it in Barcelona instead of Liverpool.' You know players are different. I've had this very often. When they've lost one opportunity, you will never get the same player again.

“By the way, final decision, if I would have said 'no way', the club would have said 'ok, let's try'.

“But it was clear there was no chance. It's not that there was an open question or something and in the end 50 per cent pro, 50 per cent contra and I had to make the decision. In the end, it was quite easy.”

Coutinho told Liverpool Barcelona was the only club in the world that could tempt him from Anfield.

Klopp felt denying him the chance was detrimental, but says the sale should be seen in isolation.

“If you can live in Barcelona and speak the language even better than the language here, would you say no for the rest of your life? This is how it is,” said Klopp.

“We probably cannot do this for all players but as a club we have to (ensure) there is no need to leave from the sports side. There is always a team that is doing a little bit better, or maybe not better but they have a few more points, or more money, but we really have a lot to offer.

“Yes, maybe we do need to make it more clear in the future but look at what we have. Mo Salah. We didn't go to Rome and kidnap him. He wanted to come. Sadio Mane. Not all the teams wanted him but they want him now. We have these players. Gini Wijnaldum. Not everyone thought 'fantastic idea! but a lot of clubs wanted him and we have him. We will carry on like this. Oxlade-Chamberlain. London is not a bad city I heard but he came here for the football.”

Klopp has vowed to reinvest the extraordinary fee, but would not say when. Liverpool will not, for example, join the auction for Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez.

“You know I'm not a manager who counts all the money and goes to the owners and says we need this. The owners are completely on my side,” he said.

“We have no money issues at this club. We will get all the money. Always since I'm in here we can have all the monies from transfers and more if needed. Nobody told me 'no way'. So far we got all the players we wanted. Now one has left and it's not too cool but it's not a real problem.”

Klopp was reminded how Liverpool suffered when losing Xabi Alonso, Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez.

“I don't know how it was in these times. We don't play 'hero' football. It's not one hero and the rest try to help them a little bit,” he said.

“We already put responsibility on different shoulders. Our game worked with Coutinho really well, sometimes not. It's all about how we react as a club. We will bring in other players, that's for sure. If we do it in this window, I don't know.”
