that The Lord God Almighty IS eligible for the Champions League on a side note, I was down at the train station trying to get the car started as my wife couldn't get it going. I had tried everything I knew and had given up. I was well pissed off and freezing, it is about -7 and windy. Then my mate calls me to tell me that Robbie had signed so I start jumping about the car park. Then i slam down the bonnet, happy as larry, think I'll just try it one more time and the fucker starts first time! Thank You God.

According to Sky Victor is heading to Liverpool on Sunday for a medical and to agree personal terms for a 3 1/2 year deal. Victor has not made the trip to Madrid with his teammates for the game against Athletico. http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?HLID=357990&CPID=8&title=Reds+close+in+on+Victor+swoop&lid=2&channel=Football_Home&f=rss

Are we going to buy anyone or have we shot our load? Are we going to be signing or is our transfer spunk dribbling down the curtains of the transfer window?

I know this is based on fuck all but my opinion but surely we have to be looking at Nihat this summer? We're going to be a getting a striker in as it looks like Djib or Nando or both will be on their way. Nihat is on a free this season and is fucking dynamite. He small, tricky, scores a lot, creates a lot, is young and links very well with that Kovachevic fella (sp) up front for them who is a big guy like Crouchy. With all the Defoe and Owen rumours about i can't help but be frustrated by the fact we're never linked with this guy because he's at least the equal of Defoe and has a lot more skill than Mikey. We'd save a packet on transfer fee's too and even IF it …

Do you ever keep an eye out for another teams results? Say in the lower leagues or abroad? I've always had a soft-spot for Juventus, the reason being that back in the 90's - as we all know - the Mancs were the only side that ever got to play in the champions league, and were dominating at home, it seemed like no one else could ever beat them or compete with their wealth, and then Juventus came along and gave them two footballing lessons in one season. It was like watching the USA entering WW2 - fukin bout time. Then there was Zidane - the best footballer I've ever seen. Still follow their results now - miss Football Italia on channel 4 though, that was fine …

REDS CLOSE IN ON VICTOR SWOOP By Francisco Acedo - Created on 27 Jan 2006 Liverpool are poised to follow up the capture of Robbie Fowler with the signing of Deportivo La Coruna winger Victor. Reds boss Rafa Benitez has made no secret of his desire to bring in a winger during the January transfer window and had been linked with a host of names. Benitez has seen moves for Atletico Madrid's Luciano Galletti and Benfica's Simao Sabrosa hit the rocks, prompting the Spaniard to switch his attentions across La Primera to Depor. The Reds are close to striking an accord with Depor and Victor has not made the trip to Madrid for the weekend clash with Atletico. …

The saga of the right midfielder has been going on since summer, and it very much looks like we'll be waiting til the end of the season before getting the right player (so to speak). We seem to have had a few different options, but I'm not concerned about that. My question is this, Rashid wins the euro lottery this weekend and immediately gives 30 mill to Parry. If we could then get any right mid in the world, regardless of availability, who would you go for?

"We don't have a lot of money, so we need to use our imagination. And we will try to use our imagination to bring in players," explained Benitez. "We are trying to do something with Mark Gonzalez, because we cannot wait forever for a work permit. "Right now I am thinking about another player in Spain, maybe in a swop, if it's possible. A right-winger. But we cannot say names because then we have problems. "It's difficult because the big clubs and the big players are fighting to be in the top four and in European competition, and clubs won't sell those players. In this situation, I say again, we must use our imagination." Liverpool Echo Seriously guys …

God is back, but is this a good piece of business? Is it the kind of statement Liverpool and Benitez should be making? Sorry if this thread repeats what's being discussed elsewhere, but I'm still letting this sink in. Would our rivals for the top spots re-sign a player who is clearly well past his best? Or is this exactly the kind of signing that shows what a unique and marvellous club we are?

How long will Gerrard put up with it? 1 2 3 4
by Guest brendan- 89 replies

It's all very well putting ego to one side and doing what's best for the team, but Stevie has given Benitez and the board plenty of time to line up a right-midfield replacement, and time is running out. Fine, Gerrard is such a fabulous footballer that he looks excellent wherever he plays, but the man himself knows his best position is in the middle. So does everyone else. He must be getting very annoyed with Sissoko and Alonso being the "preferred" central partnership, especially as the often brainless Momo couldn't find a red shirt in a fucking abbatoir. So how long is it going to last? How long can it last?
