Stoke Preview show featuring Neil Mellor

Ahead of the big kick off this weekend former Reds' striker and long time friend of the podcast Neil Mellor joins TLW Editor Dave Usher and 'Numbers' to preview the clash at the Britannia.

Neil gives us a professionals take on how the players are likely to have reacted to the 6-1 humiliation last season and who his preferred partner for Martin Skrtel would be. He also shares his thoughts on the coaching changes and explains why he believes the Reds are in a three way battle to claim the 3rd and 4th spots in this year's Premier League.

Affelay playing off Diouf and Glen Johnson's history at scoring ridiculous winners against his old sides (long shot vs West Ham and cutting inside vs Chelsea), along with that prick Walters...

We have to get at their centre backs without Shawcross and hope they miss N'Zonzi.

After he moved from Ormskirk over to the Wirral, Toni & Guy's closed down not long afterwards, so I'd say he probably is as he may have been the only thing keeping them in business.

Thought he made some interesting points in this, particularly about how opponents will target Joe Gomez because he cuts inside all the time.

He was very restrained on Jon Walters too, but not as restrained as me as I managed to not swear. Numbers didn't have to edit out any of that, I didn't swear even once which is as impressive as it is surprising.
