Red of the Day - Robert McDougall

by Chris Wood

Robert was a forward who made 7 First Division appearances for Liverpool in the two seasons before the First World War.

He also played once in the F.A. cup, in the second round victory at Gillingham as the club progressed towards their first major final in the 1914 competition.

McDougall was one of 27 different players used during the 1913-14 season and all but one of his League appearances came in the second-half of that season. He was on the scoresheet just once and that was the only goal of the game on his debut at West Bromwich Albion on 24th January 1914.
