That was the week that was (Mar 3-9 2018)

Mar 3…

L 2 Newcastle 0 A nice, encouraging win this. Never got going, very sloppy at times but still won without any hint of drama. Newcastle had one chance (if you can call a shot from 20 yards a ‘chance’), which was superbly kept out by Karius. Aside from that, they offered nothing because 1) they’re shit and 2) Rafa. He often plays like this when he has the stronger team, so he’s hardly going to do anything else when his players are completely over-matched.

I really hope they go down because their fans are dickheads. I’ll always remember them taunting us about Hicks and Gillett and even today they were giving it the full anti-scouse repertoire even after most of Anfield applauded them for their anti-Ashley chants. I hope the ‘fat cockney bastard’ runs them into the fucking ground.

Also today, for the first time in the Premier League under Dyche, Burnley won after conceding the first goal, and the travelling Blues were absolutely fuming with Fat Sam. “Fat greedy bastard” and “fuck off Sam Allardyce” rang out from the away end. I’ve had a look at their fixtures and although they seem safe at the moment, they have Brighton and Stoke next, followed by City and us.

If they were to lose the next two they’ll find themselves right in the shit for the last five games. I’d even be willing to allow Newcastle to survive if it sent the Blues down. We need Brighton and Stoke to do the business in the next couple of games though, and then it’s game on.

Mar 4…

Just what the fuck were Chelsea doing today? That clip where their players were all literally just stood still in their positions like it was a training drill walk through is just incredible. I’ve never seen that before, it’s hard to believe that could actually happen at this level, especially as they were losing at the time.

Conte saw his arse when he heard about the criticism he’d taken on Sky by Neville and Redknapp, and he called them both ‘stupid’. I see both sides of this one and although Conte’s credentials are unimpeachable, there’s no getting away from it, that approach was a fucking cowardly disgrace. It's fine when the game is level, but when you're losing to have to have a go, surely?

Rafa did the same thing against City and played to keep the score down, but not only was that excusable it actually made sense because in Newcastle’s situation goal difference could be a big factor. Besides, Newcastle are fucking garbage and didn’t have the firepower to get at City.

Conte’s team are the reigning Champions. He’s could field Hazard, Morata and Willian as his front three and he’s got Kante in midfield. For them to wave a white flag like that is pitiful. Are we the only team that has the balls to go toe to toe with City? It looks like it. This is like early Mike Tyson when his opponents were beaten before they even got in the ring. Chelsea were Frank Bruno, terrified and making the sign of the cross all the way to the ring.

Imagine being Eden Hazard playing in that team. Here’s an idea. This summer we should whack in a £150m bid for Hazard. He’s not going to sign a new contract there and neither Real or Barca can afford him. We need a fourth forward so we have a top quality rotation and there isn’t a massive drop off when one of the front three are rested (at the moment the drop off is fucking massive).

He’d love playing our style of football and it’s not like we need to buy six players this summer. I mean what do we need? A keeper, a replacement for Can and another forward. So do what it takes to get Can to re-sign and if Karius continues like this then just blow the whole budget on Hazard. Imagine how scary we’d be if we added him to what we have. Yeah yeah I know, who am I kidding. That's two paragraphs of all of our lives we'll never get back.

In other news, Arsenal lost again. They’re just a complete dumpster fire now and Arsenal Fan TV was gold tonight. I apologise for posting another one of their videos but I can’t help myself. You need to watch this clip of Troopz ranting about how none of his critics would survive ‘in his ‘hood’ as it’s just hilarious. (from about 4:40 onwards)

If Arsenal ever get their act together I’m really going to miss watching the likes of Claude, Troopz and DT.

Mar 5…

Ox follows Conte’s lead and calls Neville ‘stupid’. He may have been talking more about Thierry Henry actually but he wasn’t impressed with comments made by both of them back in the summer when he signed for us. Funny seeing loads of Reds buzzing off it when most of us were saying the same kind of things and probably worse! Ox is doing well and proving a lot of doubters wrong, but he's still pretty inconsistent. I love his attitude and desire to learn, but it feels like there's loads more to come from him.

The u23s got battered by Leicester tonight. We had a trialist from Chelsea playing. Isaac Christie-Davies. Proper Arsenal name that, so I’m out. Sick of all these double barrelled cunts as it’s a pain in the arse having to type it.

Also tonight, here’s Palace after they went 2-0 up against United….

Mar 6…

L 0 Porto 0 Job done. A win would have been nice but a clean sheet was the main thing I wanted from tonight. We know we can score, but the defensive improvement we’ve seen of late has been encouraging and clean sheets breed confidence. They had one chance, which was superbly blocked by Lovren.

Also tonight, PSG went out with a whimper. What a fucking bunch of frauds they are. Every year they spend a shit tonne of money. Every year they run away with the French league. And every year they go out to the first good side they meet in the Champions League.

They can buy who they want and spend who they want, but their league is so soft they’re always going to struggle when they come up against a team that’s not scared of them. We’d beat them, so would City and so would Spurs. Not to mention Barca and Bayern, and maybe Juventus. Any top player who signs for them is in it purely for the cash *cough* Neymar *cough*

Mar 7…

Hahahahaha fuck off Spurs. “Can’t give Juve two chances” eh Harry? Fucking smug prick. Not that Juventus going through is great for us, as that’s a draw I’d much rather avoid for obvious reasons. Still, I love Buffon and Chiellini and it was ace seeing them repelling Spurs in those last ten minutes.

Not as ace as Chiellini doing an interview afterwards where he basically said “same old Spurs, it’s in their DNA”. Also tonight, City were beaten at home by Basel. It didn’t mean much as they were already through, but it makes me feel even better about what we did last night, and I already felt pretty good about it.

You know who should be watching that tonight and feeling embarrassed though? Antonio Conte. I know the circumstances are different, but Basel went 1-0 down and had a go. No reason why Chelsea couldn't have done that.

Mar 8…

Oh for fucks sake. Big game this weekend, so guess what? An interview with Lovren where he’s talking about how he overcame his bad spell and is now feeling great. Must we have this every fucking time we play an important match?

I don’t blame Lovren, it’s not like he’s hanging around the press room off his own accord just looking for a reporter to run his mouth too. Someone keeps putting him in these situations. Ordinarily he’d by first choice to partner big Virgil, but I’d play Matip now as I’m superstitious like that.

Meanwhile, Arsenal beat AC Milan, which says far more about the decline of AC Milan than it does anything about the Gunners, who are what they are.

Mar 9…

The u23s lost 2-1 at Anfield to a United side who'd only won two games all season and who were bottom of the league. Not a good omen for tomorrow as this was a game we were expected to win because we're better than them. Annoying as it would be funny if they were relegated from the ressies league. We've probably just assured them of their safety.

Nice interview with Hendo today where he spoke about not letting social media criticism affect him and how he’d rather people were ripping him than his team-mates. Pisses me off the shit he gets any time we have a bad result, and you know Klopp just has complete and utter disdain for the Hendo doubters.

There was a good ‘un with Mané too where he spoke about how as an attacker he loves playing for Klopp and wouldn’t like playing for United. Everything he said echoed what I was saying about why we should go for Hazard, but I wish he'd waited until after the game before saying it as I hate it when we get all chesty like this, especially when it's Old Trafford and Mourinho on the horizon. Less talk, more walk.

I see Neymar is apparently pining for a return to Barca because the French league isn’t competitive enough for him and PSG bombed in the Champions League. These fucking modern footballers. Absolute bell whiffs. I don’t know if he’ greedy, stupid or both. Going to PSG for the money is one thing, but if he was telling the truth about going there so he could win the Balon D’or then that’s some Paul Person level of idiocy.

I mean really, you think playing in a league in which frauds like Zlatan and Cavani can score 40 a season is going to give you more street credit than doing it at Barca? Even Pogba would look like a star in France.

Neymar isn’t going anywhere and you know why? Because he signed for the one club in the world that had the financial ‘backing’ to get him, and now no-one else can afford him, not least because of the buy out clause he now has.

Of course Madrid are being mentioned as potential suitors. They love nothing more than having their name linked with all the top players, but when was the last time they actually went and bought one of them? A good few years ago, because they’re fucking skint, it’s just that for some reason nobody seems to be talking about it.

Finally, bad news for Klopp on the injury front ahead of the game tomorrow. Pogba limped out of training and looks like he won’t make it. Fucks sake, that means we’re up against eleven men tomorrow then. Probably 12 actually, as that bum Craig Pawson is refereeing.

Watching that video was painful, blood. Sure as hell, never going down his hood.

The self-control of the interviewer is amazing when everyone else is pissing their sides, blood!
