iTunes Help Needed
Yo nerds.
Right, basically I want to transfer all the contents of my PC's itunes over to the itunes program on my laptop; so what's the fastest and easiest way to do so? So you know, alot of the songs have been downloaded and so are saved to the 'My Music' folder on my PC.

Yep, it's an 8 gig.
All of the songs are on there, but I seem to remember that last time I tried copying the songs from the iPod into the new iTunes the songs wouldn't play (on itunes), because they weren't backed up in a folder.

You can format your ipod to use it as a portable hard drive, then copy them straight off your ipod onto the laptop.
Not 100% sure how to do it as I only got my 160gb baby yesterday, already 70gb full.

Copy your entire iTunes folder from machine A to machine B, this will copy all your music and also your iTunes library.
The iTunes folder is under My Music, unless you moved it manually.

Re: iTunes Help Needed
How do you move video files over onto an Ipod? Can you just drag and drop?
Also, are there any good sites for shit like games? I saw some dude playing monopoly on his when I was on the plane back from Egypt, I want to get involved with that.

Re: iTunes Help Needed
If you just want to move the video files from source A to source B, then just drag and drop onto the iPod. If you want to be able to watch the videos on the iPod, then you need to import them into iTunes before syncing thm onto the iPod.
You can get games from the iTunes App store, more info here: Apple - iTunes - What’s on iTunes? - iPod Games

Yeah, I fucked off the useless company that took ages to sort it and just went and paid a bit more in-store for it, because I wanted for going away. I got a dock for it that retails at about £50 for free and it's good enough that I can't complain about it.

I want to be able to watch the videos but I don't think many of my files are in mp4 format, which they have to be apparently. I'm doing an update now as apparently quick time pro has an easy funtion for converting them and then putting them in the itunes library. I can see that I can buy games from the itunes store but I'm thinking that Utorrent is probably an option here, surely?

Re: iTunes Help Needed
Why is my Ipod directory dissapearing pretty much as soon as the thing is plugged in. I go to My Computer to start moving stuff and then it vanishes. Why?

Re: iTunes Help Needed
Stu I tried to find games for the latest ipod classic on utorrent, but couldnt find any that work, so ended up buying a few off itunes for £4 each. Sonic and Sims Pool are both excellent off it.
I dunno about your other problem, I think wiiksie or someone else who also with a vast amount of techy knowledge will though.

What's the point in tolerating all you nerdy bastards if I don't get a problem response when one is needed? If I don't get some help here soon then I'm going to have to start microwaving your Star Wars figures.
Don't make me do it.

I know we're supposed to respect the geeks now they have their own forum but I'm inclined to ask as I've not seen it mentioned...
...Have you tried re-booting?

Re: iTunes Help Needed
I'm having another bash at this now and the Ipod still dissapears from the My Computer list for some reason. Confusing. If this carries on much longer I'm in danger of paying for games here.
