Nokia N95
Just got one as a free upgrade. It's the older model so I whacked in an 8gb card and put some music on it.
It has the O2 GPS thingy on it but fuck if I can get it to work. So I'm wondering, what is the point of it, the phone itself that is. What do other owners of this piece of kit do with it?
And any advice regarding the GPS would be appreciated.

For the GPS you have to have the screen up as the reciever sits behind the keypad.
It also has to be able to "see" sky, either through a sunroof or on your dashboard.
Also, you'll make life much easier if you download the maps from Nokia Europe - Nokia maps - Main as opposed to downloading them on the fly
You also have to pay a license fee to Nokia for the navigation system to work.
I use mine quite a bit and it's a good piece of kit.

Re: Nokia N95
You ditch the nokia maps and install tom tom on it with Mr T's voice telling you which way to go and the speed camera detection mods.
You can also use it for workie type things if you're that way inclined as it has free apps available that allow you to connect and synch with an exchange server.
It's also got wifi on it which means you can browse the web for free in places like McDonalds that have free wifi. Aside from that I just use it as a phone and an easy to carry camera.

It simple really, do what is required, and we'll get along fine.
And less of the whining

In all seriousness, the whinging doesn't bother me whether I'm playing against you or on your team. I don't take it personally and I hope nobody takes what I might say while we play personally because the minute the game stops then the attitude drops. Hey that rhymes!
In short, what happens on the pitch stays in the pitch. Which is why I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY AGAINST MONTY!!!

Perhaps you might point me in this TomTom direction as I'll not be at the footie on Thursday, or any other day for that matter.
Is the TomTom service free or must you pay like the Nokia Maps navigation?

Re: Nokia N95
Err, you're supposed to pay for it?
It's not actually supposed to work on the N95 but it's been patched up a bit to make it work. As for how to get it. I got it off a newsgroup.

See that's a joy to behold. A Man who just takes a hint and goes and sorts himself out without having to have his fanny polished and his hand held all the way through it. God damn, I say God damn. Well done to you sir. Have some rep.

Re: Nokia N95
I've got the N95 8gb and think it's best phone I've had fir a while, the WAN network search is good for internet use not using your allowance on mb on your network. I've got the mobile Tom-Tom but not installed it yet. Does anyone know of good site for N95 8gb apps to install?
