Renaming MP3s...

Anyone know of a quick way, or piece of software which renames mp3s based on their ID3 tags?

I want all the filenames stripped of things like underscores and just converted to a Artist - Title.mp3 structure.

It's not because I'm just really anal about it all, it's for when I burn mp3 CDs for the car. The display isn't big enough to read the titles all the time especially when some of the mp3s have a load of crap in the filename.

Suggestions please....

this is what i use although you have to pay for the full product unless you know where to look.

Mp3 tag editor - Tag&Rename

i am in the process of tagging and renaming about 100gb of mp3s and have tried several programs and this was just brilliant.

Re: Renaming MP3s...

I keep all of mine in their scene release format, in fact ones that I rip myself I do to the same standard and keep the same naming structure but I am anal

Anyway, another prog which will do it for you and the one I use is MP3Tag Mp3tag - the universal Tag Editor (ID3v1, ID3v2, APEv2)

Media Monkey is another program that whilst been a media player also has a tag program which like tag & rename connects to amazon to download the mp3 ids.

Re: Renaming MP3s...

MP3Tag is excellent, I use this in conjunction with iTLU (automates the iTunes Lib), and it keeps my 200 or so Gb of music nicely organised.

You can do tag > filename or filename > tag with MP3Tag, and it has nice batch capabilities too.

Coop knows.

Media Monkey is superb. I use it instead of iTunes. If anyone wants it, I've got a keygen to unlock all the other features too.
