Films on phones (weeeeeeeeeeksiiiiiieeeeee!!!!!)

I have a phone with a decent sized memory card, can I watch films on it? I know the screen is small and that, but for some things it doesn't matter. It plays mp4. Most of the stuff i have is avi. What should I do?

If it only plays mp4 files then download a .avi to mp4 converter and jobs a goodun

This piece of freeware should do the trick. Download Freez iPod Video Converter, Freez iPod Video Converter 1.5 Download

Re: Films on phones (weeeeeeeeeeksiiiiiieeeeee!!!!!)

Get this:

MediaCoder - Download Full Pack

Install and run it.

Drag and drop the AVI's you want to convert.

Go to Extensions/Game Consoles/PSP

Select the resolution and video quality you want.

Click Start.

Voila.

Mp4 is the same format as used by PSP, so you can use the PSP setting in MediaCoder.

Just out of interest though Jim, what phone you got? Might be possible to download a different media player (I did that with my SmartPhone so I can play a wider variety of file types and codecs).

Seriously though, I doubt you'll be able to get other media players so go with my plan A.

And have a look at the new Sony Xperia X1 before getting an iPhone.

Nice one Jim. I use mediacoder all the time, produces some really high quality vids for my PSP. Nice to have loads of options too, you can really get to the file size/quality sweet spot.

I downloaded it and was baffled by an array of menus and stuff. Too much techy div in my head.

Tut tut TK, as a PSP owner you should be all over this like a dose of the clap, mate.

Try again, it really is quite simple to use. When you use the PSP extension, make sure you use MPEG4 AVC as the format, and 480*272 as the res.

I was actually trying to convert something to DivX but gave up as it seemed too complicated.

Next time I need some PSP vids I'll give it a crack.

My brother in law wants me to explain to him how to do it and he's an uber tech idiot
