Championship Manager 93...
...totally rules.
I've just won the league in the second season using mostly this team:
David James
Rob Jones
Mark Atkins
Steve Chettle
Paul Warhurst
Don Hutchison
Mike Marsh
Jamie Redknapp
Julian Joachim
Chris Armstrong
Tommy Johnson
Subs:
Matt Le Tissier
Jamie Pollock
This preseason I was planning on having a look at Gary Speed and Gary McAllister, but the latter has just moved to Italy during the close season and I couldn't sign him as my squad was full (26 players) until the transfer deadline (week 33).
I'm also looking at Sheffield Wednesday's left back Julian Watts and Man City's Mike Sheron. At nearly £5m Blackburn's Alan Shearer is too expensive.
Robbie Fowler hadn't even come along at this stage. I don't know how many hours I spent playing this game when I was a kid. Football nostalgia rules.

Re: Championship Manager 93...
Fuck it, I managed to sign Shearer for £3.8m.
He wanted a staggering £8k a week though!

Is that the one where Brian Laws continually signs for Man Utd?

Re: Championship Manager 93...
Cain, you need to get yourself an Amiga emulator and get on it.
Only then will you realise just how far football management games have come.
I remember we were totally in awe of this game when it first came out because it had endless options and the tactics were really in-depth.

Re: Championship Manager 93...
I don't really play any football manager games because I find them boring. I might try and give them more of attempt during uni.

Re: Championship Manager 93...
You should post the links to those emulators, and the game.
Oh, and sticky it on the GF. For Paul.

Re: Championship Manager 93...
Championship Manager was the revision for my GCSE's.
Nil Lamptey was the player to buy on the update disk.

Pete, is this Championship Manager 93/94? That was the first I ever played and it was amazing.
I remember stumbling over a perfect tactic. I started a game as Brighton in the then 4th division. In my third friendly or so all my full backs, and all my wide players were injuried, so I just played three central defenders, three central midfielders, one link man and three central strikers. I won that game 8-0 and stuck with the tactic winning most games with ridiculous scores. After winning back to back promotions i won the league and then the european cup using pretty much the same players I started up with!
Those were the days!
