HTML Newsletter

At work we need to send out one of those awful HTML newsletters by email and the publications department are asking me some questions about the best way of doing this.

They created the newsletter first in photoshop and then in pageplus (page plus is a product that I am not familiar with). Pageplus allows you to 'send as email...' which is fine internally.

In web mode it allows you export it as html which I have done and uploaded to our webspace for them. I have then used IE to browse to the webspace and selected 'send page via email' which works fine. But, some email clients struggle with it, for example I sent it to my gmail mail account and it is just a collection of .gif attachments.

Something else I thought about was that we wouldn't want our email address to be black listed by people classing this as spam. Therefore, I was thinking of using an external provider.

I had a look at Email Marketing - Constant Contact

So, two things really:

Am I missing a much simpler way of doing this task. And two, can anyone recommend where I outsource this?

Re: HTML Newsletter

HTML newsletters are all well and good, but if the recipient's e-mail client won't display it then it's a total waste of time.

The send page option in IE will never work. The best way to do it using Outlook is to upload all of the pictures and link to them from the HTML file, which you then set as the stationary for your e-mail. That way, only the HTML will be sent to the recipient and the pictures will be downloaded off the web when they open the e-mail.

This Bulk Email Software e-Campaign Bulk Email Marketing Software HTML Email Newsletter Software Mass Email Bulk Mailing List Software is what we used to use. It allows you to send out an multipart HTML and plain text e-mail so the end client will be able to see whichever one their e-mail program is set up to use. It's quite reasonably priced too.
