Ahh, i have a 200mbs Homeplug so bandwith is not an issue for me.

I also don;t play games on the xbox, I had a bash with the emulators, but found games should be left in my memory. I have 360's for doing Hi def wmv's but can't get any other HD Content working

You have to convert the other HD stuff on the fly mate but you need a pretty tasty pc to be able to do that.

When the next 360 update comes along if they add support for mkv then i will be a happy man.

Thats the only thing that tempts me to a Ps3.

Do you have a 360. If not then the PS3 is one possible way of playing the hi def stuff.

A rumoured blu-ray drive for the 360 is said to be on the way which if so i think will also come with better h264 then we currently have.

I have 2 360's, one "flashed" and the other legit, i bought the 2nd one after the first one died, but then a mate magically fixed it with hard core electronics skills

I wish I kept my old xbox now, it was an awesome media centre with all the mods on it and a big hard drive to store games movies everything they are great machines.

Is it easy to upgrade XBMC?

all 3 of mine have different versions on, with the newer ones having a lot better features than the main one in the lounge.

Yeah all you have to do is download the latest version (released 5th of May) and you will get a XBMC folder just FTP that over to where your current XBMC folder os on your xbox and overwrite it.

My Videos goes directly to 192.168.1.87/video

Probably so mate but its easy to setup your video configs in XBMC and i would imagine with half hour you would have everything up and running again.

Can't get my PS3 to talk to my mac at all. The IP is the same, the wireless is fine, I've TwonkyVision saying a PS3 is trying to connect but my PS3 is saying no media servers found.

The Mac might be a bit funny about the ps3. I have something called Connect 360 for my xboxes...

Maybe theres a connect ps3

Whats your setup, Nicky Noo Noo? I.e, do you have Mac, PS3 + Router?

How is your mac setup to get an IP address from the router? Automatic or fixed? Like DJ said, the Mac and the PS3 need different IP addresses.

Sorry, meant to say 192.168.1.2 for the mac, 192.168.1.10 for the PS3.
Is that right? I read the PS3 likes to be higher.

I have looked at that a bit, looked also here TwonkyVision UPnP AV Media Server • View topic - PS3 v1.93 and Twonkyvision

Set up is intel imac, NETGEAR router, PS3 all wireless (85%).

The mac I presume is set up automatically. How do I change that? And er what to?

I'll give this twonky thing a lash on my Mac and see what the score is.
