set a auto forward all on hotmail to a gmail address and set Outlook up with Gmail instead .Uses different ports than the standard though

Didn't they prevent people from downloading hotmails via outlook a few years ago DC (I haven't used hotmail for over 5 years, so I might wrong)? And now don't you have to setup some shitty web form from within Outlook, that is just a browser view of hotmail? Rather than actual mail items in a pst?
