Re: Mario Kart Wii
I have my mutlimillion design idea:
A Kart that you sit in and has:
Steering and pedals.
Movement
When you pick up something it shows up in your dashboard.
A big red button to launch the missile/lightning etc
Wing mirrors to show either side behind you.
HOW FUCKING ACE WOULD THAT BE!!

It could spin round when you get hit by a shell, too.

Re: Mario Kart Wii
Well I bought it today, cos here in futureland (aka Japan) we get everything a day or so earlier. And it roxxors the house.
The wii wheel works surprisingly well too. So bow down before me, for I am your god (for the next four days).

Next 1 day. Amazon just sent me an email saying it's been despatched. In your face.
I've read a lot of reviews saying the wheel is much more difficult, and that to do really well on it you need the classic pad. Have you tried it without the wheel?

Re: Mario Kart Wii
I'm not sure about the wheel. Not sure at all. I'm sure I read somewhere you can use the Wii Remote, the classic pad or a Gamecube controller with this? If so, I'm going Remote or GC controller...

Re: Mario Kart Wii
Can you use the normal gamecube pad? How does that work? I'm sure I must have one in the cupboard..

Re: Mario Kart Wii
Hmmm. I reckon I'll give it a go using the wheel for novelty purposes, and probably give up on it fairly quickly. How do you go about playing specific people at it? I've played Pro Evo online (still love that game like a brother by the way) but only against randoms..

Re: Mario Kart Wii
Had 6 out of 10 in Edge magazine. Not great.

None of the reviews I've read have been without their criticisms. I just hope it's better than Double Dash, which I really didn't like.

Edge is the only games magazine where I'd take their opinion into account so I'll probably wait for a bit before I get Mario Kart.

Re: Mario Kart Wii
Edge are always super harsh with their marks but that's probably a good thing as most games mags go way OTT. However most of Edge magazine is full of geek and tech talk and is really rather dull. I like Mr Biffo's column but haven't bought it for yonks.
