The thing i liked is that the pedestrian and other car drivers seem more realistic.

A fine example was when i hit the back of a car cos i couldnt brake quick enough and the guy got out of his car shouting abuse wanting to kill me.

Hardly played it yet but already i can see it been a very submerssive world that it draws you into.

So far this has the potential to be the best game ever!

Agree and i havent got on a free run in multiplayer yet which i think can propel this game to online legend status.

The one snag I have about the online is that there is only (I think) a manual aim when shooting, which is hard when your far away, although Im sure I may be proved wrong as I played it half asleep at 4 in the morning.

Yeah, think it used to be different buttons to brake and accelerate. Sure you can change them if you want. Have only done a couple of missions myself, but enjoying it so far.

I was nearly crying today because of this game. Went to get a copy after work only to realise that I had lost my Bank Card and I had no cash on me. The bank was closed so I had to go home empty handed and I'm out from about 9am tomorrow and wont get back til Thursday morning. I cant play GTA until THURSDAY!!!!

Apparently the PS3 version is better than the XBOX 360 version.

A while back we posted this article (which was found to be completely fake) claiming that the Xbox 360 version was superior to the PS3 version. You can read that below, if you'd like. Well, today we have the official verdict on which version is really better, straight from IGN's review of the game. "Past GTA titles have had mild-to-serious framerate issues and technical glitches, because the games were trying to do far more than the PlayStation 2 could handle. While GTA IV is pushing the PS3 and 360 to the limit, it also runs amazingly well. Sure, there are framerate hitches here and there and (particularly on 360) there is some texture pop-in, but it actually runs better than I expected." "those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in. The 360 has richer colors, but the PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster. Don't worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don't occur very often. The slight visual edge goes to PS3, but the 360 is no slouch. Either version will do you proud." So, it turns out that it's completely the opposite of what was stated before and the PS3 version is technically better. The game is still said to run very well on both systems, so the whole argument isn't that big of a deal anyway. Just buy the game for whichever system and know that you don't have to worry about any major problems on either of them. Check out the full IGN review.

Sony's boasting that the new Grand Theft Auto was "meant to be played" on the PS3, while Microsoft is touting the exclusive downloadable content—including, perhaps, a new city—that's on tap for the Xbox 360 version of GTA:IV. PS3 vs. Xbox 360...fight! PS3 pros: From what the Rockstar developers are saying, the PS3 might have an ever-so-slight edge in terms of graphics, although that could me more a factor of aesthetics than anything else. "I like the way [the PS3] renders," Rockstar founder Sam Houser told 1UP.com. "There's a certain kind of softness without being blurry—some warmth to it—and then there's a certain more clinical element to how the 360 looks." That said, Houser thinks the differences are pretty subtle: "As far as I'm concerned, they're neck and neck now." There's also talk that the PS3 will get Sixaxis "tilt" control for helicopters, boats, and motorcycles—which could be a plus or a minus, depending on your point of view. Luckily, Sixaxis control is reportedly optional. PS3 cons: For now, at least, there's no word of any additional downloadable content on the scale of what Xbox 360 users can expect. Xbox 360 pros: Number one of the list, of course, is the promised downloadable expansion packs for later this year. Details are sketchy, but according to some rumors[color=black], we could be seeing entire new cities (although Kotaku, for one, calls the rumor "a bit tough to swallow"). Anyway, just the promise of significant new content—exclusive to the Xbox 360, for now—is a big plus for the 360 version of GTA:IV. Then there's the Xbox Live factor—and especially the draw of winning Xbox Achievement points, a concept that doesn't exist in the PlayStation universe. Xbox 360 cons: On paper, the 360 should have a tougher time than the robust PS3 in rendering GTA:IV's dense graphical world—but I wouldn't take that to the bank quite yet. So far, I haven't seen any side-by-side comparisons, and Rockstar seems to think the two consoles are "neck and neck," at least in terms of GTA's graphics. Still, I can imagine many 360 users wondering if they're getting the shorter end of the visual stick. On a different note, Rockstar has publicly complained that the Xbox 360 "created limitations" because of its relative lack of storage (just a DVD drive compared to the PS3's Blu-ray drive, and games must be built without depending on the 360's optional hard drive). In other words, the Xbox 360's "limitations" may have held back both the PS3 and 360 versions of the game.

Apparently the lack of a built-in Blu-ray or HD-DVD drive in the Xbox 360 means that the year and a half old console is already starting to feel growing pains. In an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, Rockstar creative VP Dan Houser was asked, "On PS3 you've got a guarantee that every machine is going to have a hard-drive and, with Blu-ray, you've got plenty of storage, whereas on Xbox 360 there's no guarantee of a hard-drive and you're working with the DVD format. Does that create limitations?" His answer? "Yep."
