We'll have less of your cheek, Michael.
Fact: First person shooters are a load of cock on a console. Joypad?? fuck that, give me a mouse + keyboard and I'll frag your ass.
I think the best console games are the ones that play to their strengths, not their weaknesses. First person games are popular, thats why so many are made, but stuff like GTA, Gran Turismo (the reason I'll eventually get a PS3) or the Zelda series on Nintendo are more immersive console games.

If I didn't have a decent gaming pc, and Gran Turismo was multi-format, Id already have a 360. They are technically way above PS3/Wii, but what can I say, I love GT.

Re: Halo 3
With two analogue sticks FPSs are fine with a joypad, just whack the sensitivity up to max. Mouse and keyboard is better but you can get them for consoles too, I had them on the Dreamcast.

Re: Halo 3
Confession by me.
I bought an Xbox in 2002 that came with Halo but I could never get in to it properly. Every time I started it I was a bit underwhelmed by it. My missus bought me Halo 2 for Christmas when it was released and, again, I never played it. I player it on xbox live a few times but the Americans annoyed me so much that I stopped that shit.
So when Halo 3 got it's massive launch I decided to give the original Halo a go. That was a month ago, since then I've played through all of Halo and Halo 2. On monday I bought Halo 3 and I finished it earlier today. There's no way Halo 3's singleplayer is longer than Halo 2. I totally loved them all this time round. Once I'd got into Halo the game world was amazing. The story of Halo 2 was quality and Halo 3 rounded it off nicely.
Class. I want the next game now.

Now all you have to do is take it to the next level - multiplayer xbox live. The game now comes alive!

Been playing it earlier but I don't really dig multiplayer that much.

Re: Halo 3
After completing, the vastly superior, Call of Duty 4 I have gone back to Halo 3 to pick up where I was ages ago before I got the ring of death and had to send it back. I cannot for the life of me get past a certain point though. It's the bit where you are at the top of the hill in a little outpost with busted up walls infront of it taking shit from all directions. I can kill all the dudes but I got bored of trying to take out that vehicle thing that rains down blue explosions on you. I must have pumped four magazines of ammo and some other bits and bobs of alien weaponry into it and it still didn't blow up, what's the score with it?

If it's the bit I'm thinking of, I'm pretty sure you don't have to kill that tank, but can just carry on your merry way after dealing with all the baddies on jetpacs or whatever.
Although if you really must kill it, sneak up and hop onto the back and melee it to death or chuck a grenade into the hatch.
Easy peasy.
