Re: PES 2008
Konami have really let themselves down on the PC version. Cant speak for other formats sorry.
The fact that the online play isn't working, and when it does it is really bad lag, also says my spec is not up to the standard required when it is the recommended spec they suggest, just pisses me off even more.
A sad excuse of a release, which a shame as the actual offline game has appeared to have good game play improvements made.
It's a shame that they have allowed this, absolute joke if you ask me.

Re: PES 2008
The 360 version is pretty poor to be honest.
Kit editing is still wank and the match itself is like playing on acid. Give it to a player with high dribbling skills and he will just take on all the opposition.

I did download the demo of Fifa though, and I do like the way you can have a little practice while it loads up a match for you to play. Very nice.

One thing that I love about FIFA is the physics in it. I think that Pro Evo suffers a little from poor physics in terms of the reaction between ball and player. As soon as the ball hits a player in PES it just drops to his feet and he has it under control, whereas in FIFA it takes into account the momentum. If you welly a ball really hard into another player it bounces off them and they stumble back.
I've only got FIFA 07 for the XBox360 and it's severely lacking in many ways, but I don't really see much to chose between it and PES. The goalkeepers are cunts in FIFA though.

Not in PES 2008. The relationship between player and ball is much more difficult to master. Heading too.
It's fucking difficult to stop a player running straight through your defence though. On Top Player mode of course.

Re: PES 2008
Am gutted with the 360 version. The online play is terrible, laggy as fuck. Even offline, the replays are unwatchable...they are either ridiculously jerky or from an angle where you can't see what's going on. The shooting is the best it's been in a while, but I'm getting tempted to give Fifa a real go soon. And I NEVER thought I'd say that.

And that is also so so true. The press feature (can't remember the buttons, but it's two buttons together) just doesn't work on this one, so a skillful player can run the length of the pitch without you being able to get near them. Bizarrely, I had a quick go on the Fifa demo, and found it too slow and too hard. How things change, eh?

FIFA is the same on that front. The tackling is crap.

Re: PES 2008
A few things I have noticed about the 360 version:
:If you get a man sent off, you instantly start dominating the game.
:The ref gets tons of decisions wrong (adds to realism)
:Stevie G is the best player on the game
:Crosses and corners have a massive chance to goal ratio.
: Depending on the mood of your player i.e blue-red will heavily determine the players performance, for instance on grey or blue it bsically isn't worth playing the man even if he's top class.

Re: PES 2008
Sunday night I won the treble on top player mode on the PS2.
I'm still the Don of PES.

Re: PES 2008
I hate those shitty Master League players. It's almost as if they are disabled. I'm growing into it though, still not sure about the way the players seem to have lead in their boots though.

Re: PES 2008
How good are Gerrard and Kewell compared to the rest of the Liverpool team? Ridiculous. And Babel and Agger are shite.
The PS3 version isn't bad though, all things considered. Bit of slow down here and there but its definitely playable.

Torres is amazing. By the third and (treble winning) season he's in the high 90's of everything. Gerrard was very slow and kept getting injured.

Re: PES 2008
How much cash would it cost for them to actually pay for to get the license to be able to use the proper kits and team names.
Pro Evo had the opportunity after PE5 to then take it to the next stage and make the greatest football game ever but there wasnt much difference between PE6 and PE5.
This now game Konami the chance to push the next gen consoles and make a grpahically superb game with all the correct teams and kits also with the gameplay that we were used to with the earlier games.
The have missed the opportunity and now FIFA seem to be steali | |
