Re: Pro Evo 4 on PS2

Number 4 is the best in the series I reckon.

In my experience the one-two is key to succeeding in Pro Evo against mere human opposition. It helps to learn all of the moves in the manual and try them out on the training pitch, then in a match situation against the computer, but it's not essential.

You can also learn how to defend properly and win the ball back by playing against the computer on a high skill level.

xx

What buttons? I do X and sometimes lobbed through ball. The dribbling needs to improve - how?

Re: Pro Evo 4 on PS2

Am sure you can find the manual on the Interweb, unless this is a wind up!

Yer basic skill button is L1. So L1 + X initiates a one-two, then either triangle or circle for the desired return (triangle on the deck for a through ball, circle for lofted return, or X for normal pass). L1 is very useful. L1 + square near goal = high chipped shot but this usually balloons over the bar. There is a lower chipped shot which rules for 1 v 1s with the keeper, I think it's hold down shoot and press L1 when the power gauge reaches the desired level but don't quote me on that.

As for dribbling it's generally hard to take on defenders but sprinting (R1) and learning the feints will improve that. Jink one way, then the other, drop of the shoulder. Give him a yard and a blade of grass.

I bet him 3-0 last nite! I was Italy and flatmate Brazil!
One was a 1-2 which ruled. I could start to annilihate him if I can feint better. Is that just using the directional pad?

Congratulations on your win!

There are many tricks and feints, but they're not always effective. Try Tapping L1 twice or R2 twice for some stepovers. Combinations of the shoulder buttons and directional movements will reward you with a variety of feints.

Cheers dude. Flatmate has the power of me, but I am getting the odd win and it's good!

Practice, practice and more practice. Then your flatmate won't look too clever.
