World War II games

I know this is supposed to be a footy game forum but I'm after a WWII game for PS2 and was wondering which is the best to go for as there are so many. What do you all think are the best out of Medal of Honour, Call of Duty or Brothers in Arms series' of games? I've heard that Brothers in Arms is loosely based around the Band of Brothers tv series so I was leaning towards that. Can any of you recomend one for me? Thanks.

Vladi,

You can't go wrong with any of them although the last MOH was probably the poorest of the five available on PS1 and PS2 suggesting the series may have run its course.

IMO Call of Duty is better than MOH and the 'Big Red One' just released is supposed to be the best WWII shooter available (not played it yet but it's on my Xmas wish list)

BIA is slightly different to the other two in that it places more emphasis on tactics and team strategy but nevertheless you wont be disappointed with it.

Thanks for the reply mate. I ended up getting MOH:Frontline off ebay for a fiver.

You won't regret that mate, a great game. My favourite MOH was the Allied Assault one on the PC. It was fucking rock, but eventually beatable which all great games should be. There was one bit where I kept getting killed by snipers that took me an age to get past, but once I did felt like I was the world's no. 1 soldier.

Good choice.

Probably the best MOH game available and only a fiver. Bargain.

The opening scene where you storm the beaches on D-Day is particularly realistic (think of Saving Private Ryan in pixels) and if my memory serves me right clearing the streets of Nazis and taking heavily fortified bridges in Holland takes some doing.

I remember trying that opening on the beach on my mate's PS2. I dunno if it was just me and my unfamiliarity with the PS2 joypad, but I just found the whole thing a nightmare to control... maybe cos I'm used to the keyboard & mouse PC combo?
