Liverpool beat off competition from several top clubs to secure the services of exciting striker Nikola Saric in the summer of 2008. The Bosnian born youngster was a reported target of Juventus and Barcelona amongst others, but the reds moved swiftly to snap him up.
Left footed and extremely skilful, Nikola made his name at Danish club side Herfolge, but it was at various youth levels with the Danish international set up that he really started to attract the attention of scouts from various European giants.
Named as Denmark's u17 player of the year for 2007, Nikola has also played in the year above at u18 level. He will have to wait for his Liverpool debut as he is currently sidelined with an injury.
