Vocal keeper who was snapped up from MK Dons in January 2006. David is an England u20 international, and is the son of former West Ham defender Alvin Martin.

He has been a regular for the reserves since joining the club, and has been on the first team bench on several occasions.

David joined Accrington Stanley on loan in February 2007, but was injured within five minutes of his debut. He returned to Melwood until he regained fitness, and then rejoined Stanley along with reserve team-mate Godwin Antwi.

He signed a new contract with the reds in the summer of 2008, and joined League One club Leicester City on loan to gain some 1st team experience.
