Jordy is a Dutch youth international striker that the reds snapped up from Ajax. He had been a prolific scorer for their youth and reserve sides, but Liverpool stepped in before he had signed a professional contract with the Dutch club, and he signed for the reds in January 2007.
A tall, rangy frontman, his first appearance for the reserves came in a 1-0 win over Bolton in February 2007 when he appeared as a second half substitute. He struggled for form in his first season at the club, and his second season wasn't going much better either until he suddenly began to bang in the goals in the second half of the season as Gary Ablett's side swept all before them, winning the League Title as well as the national play off final. Brouwer was on the scoresheet that night against Aston Villa, tucking away a smart finish in front of a packed Kop.
