Skilful Spanish midfielder who was spotted and brought to the club by Eduardo Macia in January 2007. He had just begun to force his way into Malaga's first team set up, and was a member of the Spanish youth set up, where he played alongside Liverpool youngsters Miki Roque and Godwin Antwi.
Franciso's reserve team debut came in a 1-0 win over Bolton in February, where he made an encouraging debut and showed a good range of passing. Unfortunately, he picked up a serious knee injury not long after, ruling him out for the rest of the season.
He returned midway through the following campaign, only to re-injure his knee and hasn't played since. This promises to be a make or break year for Duran, as he will have to prove he has overcome his injury nightmare and will need to establish himself at reserve level if he is to extend his stay on Merseyside. We at TLW wish him well in his quest, as the lad deserves some good luck.
