Irwin Strike Secures Point
A fine strike by skipper Steve Irwin earned Liverpool u18s a point away at Manchester City this afternoon. Irwin has been playing in defence most of the season but had been moved into midfield to replace Sean Highdale, who is in hospital following a car crash in which two of his friends were killed and left another critically injured. The reds have been struggling for form of late, and weren't at their best again today against a City side that rested a number of players due to their participation in the FA Youth Cup Final. City deservedly levelled the scores, but Liverpool held on for a point. We will have a more detailed report from the game on the site soon. |
