STATEMENT FROM NEW TLW OWNER TOM HICKS

“First of all let me say how excited and thrilled I am to have been able to acquire such a prestigious website. I’m sure this has come as a huge surprise to everyone, but these opportunities happen just once every few generations. My son Tommy called me about a month ago and explained what he thought was a vision and the opportunity at the Liverpool Way.


I have followed the website from afar because they’ve said some pretty mean things about George and me, but even so, you’ve got to laugh at some of the captions these guys come up with. I especially liked the one comparing George and me to those two old guys from the muppets. You have to be able to laugh at yourself, and I sure as hell don’t have any hard feelings over anything that has been written about me.

I looked through the forums every day, and I was awestruck with the true passion of the fans compared to other sports I am involved with.

I understand that I’m not exactly ‘Mr Popular’ with the fans, and I accept that we’ve made some mistakes in how we’ve gone about things. I’m here for the long haul though, I have no intention of selling the club to DIC or anybody else, and I want to show the fans how committed I am. That’s why I’ve put money into TLW, I want to make it the best fansite in the World.

Liverpool is blessed with some excellent fansites, such as Red All Over the World and ROCK, but we want to make TLW number one. With your help we think we can do that.
