Liverpool U18s got back to winning ways on Saturday as Barnsley were sent home with nothing following three second half goals which sealed a 3-0 win at the academy. Ajdarevic (pictured) danced his way superbly through the visitors' defence on the hour mark to put Liverpool ahead before late strikes from Adam Pepper and Nathan Eccleston secured the win. Pepper, still an U16s player, made the switch from Everton before last season, and celebrated his second start (in place of the injured Marvin Pourie) at this level with a well-taken goal.
But with the visitors playing the entire second half with an outfield player in goal due to injury, concerns over the young Reds' form remain.
This improved performance gave the U18s only their second league win of the year and Hughie McAuley will be hoping that a trip to Abu Dhabi next week will be good for morale.
