Liverpool reserves’ first game at their new ‘home’ in Warrington didn’t end well, as they suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of a strong Sunderland side. The result was somewhat harsh, as Gary Ablett’s youngsters were certainly worth a point at least, and played some good football at times against their more experienced opponents, with midfielder Jay Spearing in particular catching the eye.
