Dutch striker Jordy Brouwer scored twice and Robbie Threlfall was also on target as Liverpool reserves beat Blackburn Rovers 3-1 at Rovers' Academy this afternoon. Brouwer opened the scoring only for the home side to level. Threlfall's well struck free-kick regained the advantage for Gary Ablett's side, and Brouwer's second wrapped up the win. It's been a good week for the former Ajax youngster, as he registered his first competitive goal for the reserves in the win over Wigan Athletic last week.
Meanwhile, as expected Sebastian Leto, Lucas Leiva and Jack Hobbs have all been included in the senior squad for tonight's Carling Cup tie at Reading, whilst there was a surprise call up for in form Ray Putterill who was brought into the squad due to an injury doubt over Ryan Babel.
