Dirk Kuyt and Peter Crouch both staked their claim to partner Fernando Torres this weekend, as sorry Toulouse were trampled into submission on an emotional night at Anfield. It wasn’t exactly a second string side, but to be able to win so convincingly without Gerrard, Alonso, Carragher, Pennant and Torres amongst others is highly encouraging. Toulouse weren’t much opposition, but even so, the manner in which they were overcome was impressive.
