A screamer from man of the match Jay Spearing and late strikes by Craig Lindfield (pictured) and sub Ray Putterill ensured the reds came away from Tyneside with a well earned 3-0 victory and a much deserved three points. Spearing found the top corner from 30 yards with a powerful strike 13 minutes from time, and then turned provider six minutes later to set up Lindfield for the second. Putterill had only been the field four minutes, and had already gone close with a curling left foot shot before he found the net in stoppage time with a cool finish.
