Liverpool reserves are goalless with Newcastle at half time in the North East, despite dominating the first half and creating several good openings. Craig Lindfield has had the two best chances, both superbly crafted by the outstanding Jay Spearing (pictured), but so far Newcastle have just about managed to keep Gary Ablett's side at bay. Hobbs and Spearing have bossed the midfield, and Insua has caught the eye at left back with some forceful runs.
