A stunning goal from Robbie Fowler has been the highlight of an entertaining first half at the Racecourse Ground, as a strong Liverpool reserve side are proving to be too much for Blackburn. The scoreline is 3-0, but it really could have been double that. Craig Lindfield put the reds in front after 18 minutes, with a smart finish after a delightful lay off from Fowler. Robbie added a second seven minutes later, collecting a pass from Pennant and nonchantly lofting the ball around a defender into the top corner of the net with the outside of his trusty left boot.
Pennant added a superb third a minute before the break, drilling the ball home from 25 yards. The former Birmingham man really enjoying himself on the right wing and giving former Liverpool Academy full back Mark King a torrid time.
We will have a further report at the full time whistle.
