Paul Anderson's strike midway through the second half gave the reds reserves a deserved three points at the Racecourse Ground tonight. The excellent El Zhar helped create the goal, when his clever flick sent Guthrie charging in behind the defence. The skipper looked up and cut the ball across the box for Anderson to sidefoot the ball into the net, just under the crossbar, much like Riise's goal last night.
The reds backline were largely untroubled, with Gabriel Paletta in commanding form. Insua was solid and got forward to good effect, whilst Duran started brightly but tired and was replaced by fellow new boy Jordy Brouwer.
We will have an in depth report tomorrow.
