Ryan Flynn slid home an equaliser five minutes before half time, as the reds are currrently being held 1-1 by Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in the FA Youth Cup quarter final. Despite looking the better side, Liverpool fell behind on 19 minutes when Blades right back Kyle Walker drilled in a low shot after he was afforded too much time and space on the edge of the box. The reds remained patient and kept playing their football, despite the poor state of the pitch, which resembles a cabbage patch.
Ray Putterill has been tormenting the Blades right back, and went past him on at least six occasions in the first half. Twice he cut inside and went close with right footed efforts, and he looks to be the reds' main threat. The equaliser came when Charlie Barnett's 20 yard shot was tipped onto the post by the keeper, and Flynn reacted quickest to slide in and level the scores from close range.
We will have a brief report at the full time whistle and an in depth analysis tomorrow.
