The reds' bid to retain the FA Youth Cup is still alive and kicking after goals from Jimmy Ryan (pictured) and Ray Putterill saw off a much hyped Chelsea side at Anfield this morning. The Londoners have spent scoured the globe assembling a youth 'dream team', but they were humbled by a Liverpool side containing nine local lads. Ryan opened the scoring early in the first half, finishing neatly from Putteril's cross. Putterill made the game safe six minutes from time, slotting home after a stunning crossfield ball by skipper Jay Spearing found him in space.
