It wasn’t pretty, but it’s another three points and another clean sheet. Steven Gerrard proved to be the match winner for the second time in four days, but this performance from the reds was nowhere near as accomplished as the win over PSV the other night. City were a tough nut to crack, and it looked as though we wouldn’t find a way through until Gerrard pounced for his first Premiership goal of the season.
