Liverpool reserves are goal-less with Manchester City at half time at the Racecourse Ground. It was a half of very few chances, with the reds' Austrian u21 forward Besian Idrizaj the only player to force either goalkeeper into a save. New reserve boss Gary Ablett is using the same formation favoured by his predecessor Paco Herrera, with Idrizaj a lone frontman and Guthrie playing behind him.
Neither side have been able to create much, but Idrizaj has twice brought saves from City keeper Matthewson. The bulk of City's side is made up of players who lost out to the reds in last year's FA Youth Cup final, whilst six of Ablett's starting line up also featured in those games.
We will have a brief summary on here at full time, and a full report on the game tomorrow morning.
