Liverpool reserves are currently goalless against Aston Villa at half time at the Racecourse Ground. The reds have created several good opportunities, but the closest they've come to a goal was Guthrie's 25 yard free kick which came back off the post. Robbie Foy fired over from close range early on after good play by Guthrie, and Ramon Calliste has had two shots from distance saved by the keeper.
Villa have also hit the post through a Peter Whittingham piledriver from 30 yards.
The reds are playing a 3-5-2 formation with Barragan and Smith as wing backs, and have played some good football at times with Foy looking especially lively up front.
