Under 18s held by Trotters

Liverpool's u18 side were held to a goalless draw after they were unable to break down a resolute Bolton Wanderers side at the Academy this morning. Chances were few and far between in an even first half, but the reds shaded the second half and will feel that they should have collected maximum points.

Michael Nardiello had a goal disallowed for offside, and the tricky Adam Hammill was denied what looked a clear penalty after he was hauled down in the box following a mazy run which took him past four defenders. Defensively the reds were very good, with Steven Darby particularly impressive, and keeper Paul Lancaster had little to do.

A full report on the game will be on this site tomorrow.
