Scottish winger Ryan Wilkie has left the club by mutual consent, and is now a free agent. The Glaswegian joined the reds' Academy four years ago from Celtic, and a bright future was predicted for him. After a promising start, Wilkie struggled to live up to the expectations of him, and after failing to make the squad for the last two reserve games he was informed by the club he could go out on loan if he found a club.
With time running out before the transfer window closed, Wilkie was unable to secure a loan deal with anyone, and has now left as a free agent in the hope of finding a new club.
Ryan started to show some good form for the reserves at the back end of last season, but the arrival of Austrian teenager Besian Idrizaj, plus the encouraging form of youngsters Danny Guthrie and Adam Hammill pushed him down the pecking order this season.
TLW would like to wish Ryan well for the future and hope he finds a club soon.
