Harrison looks to seal Chester switch
Jun 2 2005
Reserve keeper Paul Harrison has joined Chester on a months trial.
The Academy graduate is out of contract at Anfield this summer and has been told he will not be kept on.
Chester have been long time admirers of Harrison, and former boss Ian Rush tried to sign him on several occasions.
Liverpool would not release the player however, as Patrice Luzi wasn't trusted by the coaching staff and 'Harro' was needed as cover for Jerzy Dudek and Scott Carson.
Rush then left Chester, and Harrison's hopes of a move there appeared to have gone with him.
However, Chester owner Steven Vaughan is a big admirer of Harrison, who played alongside Vaughan's son at the reds Academy for several years, and he has arranged the trial for Paul.
Mark Smyth, who represented the first team in the Carling Cup win at Spurs this season, is also rumoured to be attracting the interest of Chester.
