AVG Anti-Virus FULL Retail Edition 8.0 FREE license...
this beauty has just appeared on hotukdeals......
AVG Anti-Virus FULL Retail Edition 8.0 FREE license key til 2018 for first 145,000
just download the trial version and enter the key provided
Found this looks like a bargain to me installed with no probs at all
hope this helps someone out there
1 year subscription usually 29.35
2 year subscription usually 39.14
Fed up with free anti-virus solution giveaways with subscription period validity of just 3 months, 6 months or 1 year? Most security product developers nowadays attracts user with several months of free usage promotional offer, and then require user to pay an annual subscription fee to continue using the product or to receive the virus signature update.
Instead of succumbing to search for new free license key, serial number or activation code every other few months when the subscription period expires or ends, heres one license key number like no other, for AVG Anti-Virus users. We receive tip off that the following license number for AVG Anti-Virus will only expire on February 26, 2018, a full 10 YEARS validity and free usage. For AVG lovers who installed AVG Anti-Virus by using the one year free subscription license which going to expire by December 1, 2008, the ultimate serial key for AVG is just in time.
Its unclear if the super long activation license key for AVG AntiVirus is part of what promotion, or its a leaked serial key. Anyway, the license number will activate a full version of AVG Anti-Virus 8.0, and most likely all its future upgraded version or new releases. There are a total of 145,000 licenses available.
To use AVG Anti-Virus for free for 10 years, just download and install the latest version of AVG Anti-Virus setup installer (current version 8.0.196: avg_ipw_stf_all_8_196a1383.exe) from AVG paid version installation file download page.
When prompt for license number during installation, enter the following serial key:
8MEH-REDSL-7ETEC-ULA8R-EAOKL-4EMBR-ACED
Once installation is completed, AVG Anti-Virus full retail edition will have the license expiry date of 2/26/2018.

AVG is for cheapskates or for honest people who don't want to download cracked versions of proper antivirus software.
It's decent as far as free software goes, but doesn't compare to the stuff you pay for. Freebies are usually cack and AVG falls into this category.

Not according to every review i've read on the subject. Been using it for years and never had a serious virus or trojan. Whereas prior to that i was using a paid McAfee and had problems fairly frequently.

Re: AVG Anti-Virus FULL Retail Edition 8.0 FREE license...
The thing with viruses is that sometimes you don't even know you got one, especially if your antivirus software doesn't pick it up. After getting rid of AVG I got a commercial software in and it found dozens of nasty malware/spyware/trojans that were sitting on my computer, with AVG totally oblivious to it. AVG doesn't even pass some of the basic EICAR tests (which I tried myself). It really is the most overrated software out there, although I do see why it's popular, given that it's free and updates daily.
Now I stick to commercial products only. You can even get them for free if you know where to look. Not that I'm promoting piracy or anything...

Did you get it working?
I'm just taking Norton off my laptop (it stopped working a few weeks ago) and replacing it with AVG 8.

Firstly, I too do not advocate using software obtained illegally.
That fact established, anyone that is remotely concerned about pc security and decides to address this by downloading a cracked (i.e. altered) copy of an anti virus app is on the wrong side of a lobotomy. Sorry and all that but it's true. And if you're going to say that you download the original apps from official sites and then use keygens, I assume you virus check them before you run them?
By definition, anti-virus, anti spyware/malware and firewall software is probably the most likely to be suspect if you download it illegally. Actually, that's not true, WinRAR is, but they run it a very close second. Above all others, system security is an area where you should either use freeware/shareware, or cough up the relatively small cost of a licenced product.
Anyway, I know it's a dodgy topic to post about so if anyone feels this oversteps what's acceptable discussion of the subject, please get a mod to delete the post.
As for AVG, it's a very good piece of software, providing you back-stop it with other applications when appropriate to cover it's weak areas. The same is true of many other anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-malware applications. AVG free will do fuck all against rootkits, for example.
Still, I would rather cut my bag off, puree the contents and drink it down than install Norton on my PC - you need to upgrade first just to ensure that you maintain something resembling the performmance your PC had before you started. Overpriced shite IMO.

Hahah! Agreed, I hate that filthy thing. If you fart it brings up 5 pop-ups on your pc and then does a scan. AVG is cool, but only if you turn off the auto-update auto-scan bullshit. I prefer things that don't annoy you and leave you to use them when you want to, instead of 10 messages a day, as if the thing is just dying for attention.

The paid version that Col has linked to has Anti-Rootkit protection. The free one, as you say, doesn't.

Re: AVG Anti-Virus FULL Retail Edition 8.0 FREE license...
AVG is adequate but it is not good.
If you use online banking and use peer sharing sites it is not good enough.
NOD32 is expensive but it will protect you properly. It will not bug you with false positives over poker clients and such like.
If you see proper anti virus reviews avg and avast only score around 80% whereas nod32 / kapersky are upper 90's
You go online your need proper protection. SAFE SURFING involves proper anti virus and firewall not freebies that do half of the job.
But anything is better than norton. Thats ultra crap and has always been crap and always will be crap.
