RockNRolla
Tom Wilkinson, Thandie Newton, Idris Elba
That's not a terrible cast.
But it is a Richie gangster flick so who knows.

The trailer makes me cringe.
Seems to be his usual MO - something valuable goes missing - unlikely character finds it - cue much hilarity and japery over a Britpop soundtrack.

Re: RockNRolla
I was offered free tickets and turned them down. As soon as the girl offering me them said "its Guy Richies new..." and thats about as much as I needed to know.
It must be bad for a tight get like me to turn down free filmage. I'm just not willing to gamble two hours of my life on with less than 12.45% chance I may, just may be entertained.

Re: RockNRolla
If it bombs it will surely spell the end of Ritchie? surely?
And I concur Thandie Newton is delicious, she was beautiful in MI2 (think it was) but she's too skinny now, still hot though.

Re: RockNRolla
Lock, Stock... A film Guy Ritchie liked so much he made it again. And again by the looks of this new shit heap.

Re: RockNRolla
lock stock was brilliant, ritchie should have just left it there and thought of something new, sign of a poor film maker when he gets into a comfort zone in my opinion.

Ritchie hasn't made a new gangster flick?
Well that's a break from the norm...

Re: RockNRolla
Spoke to a couple who went to the preview and they reckoned it was good.
Whatever your opinion of Ritchie he is a good director (the flops were shite scripts) with a fair amount of style and flair. Even Kubrick couldn't make a turd Eyes Wide Shut decent.
Lock, Stock, is a truly great film, although the plot framing is shamelessly stolen from Tarentino.

He's been releasing the same film since the mid 90s, hasn't he?

That was an outstanding film IMO, and Daniel Craig was class in it.
Agreed with most of the sentiment on here; Lock, Stock was top drawer, and after that he's struggled to even make a film that was half as good.

Ted: No... No, Dougal, that's us. That's Catholicism.

Empire has given it 4 stars saying whilst not perfect it is a return to form after the last 2 films.
I gotta admit Im a big fan of Lock Stock, the energy in the film is great, Ritchie though is pretty much a video / advert director. He made the last big Nike advert, the POV one.
