I'm so happy Warren's PPV gamble has massively backfired at this early stage. Unfortunately Sky might decide they are done with boxing for the foreseable (once this deal is over).

To be fair, Setanta, in my eyes, has by far the better boxing coverage.

Sky do the best coverage by a mile, unfortunately they have turned their backs on following boxing like they used to. They have far too much football on now.
Setanta have shown they are serious about getting the big fights now but they need to improve their coverage. Steve Bunce is a joke and his input is limited to raising his voice and waving his hands around.

I dare you all to take on the Amir Khan Self Service Challenge.
Can you have a wank in 54 seconds or under?

I assume you are talking about Friday fight night and Sky having the best boxing coverage for the UK? That I agree upon, but outside the english isles, Setanta has by far the better coverage.
Agree on Bunce.

I didnt mean the choice of fights... Setanta have been winning that hands down over recent years. Even the best domestic fights such as Haye v Maccarenelli and Foster v Arthur have been on Setanta.

Re: Sky and Amir Khan... cheeky Bastards.
That's got to be the worse piece of match-making, in this cherry-picked era of building up boxers with undefeated records, that I've seen in a long time!
As everyone else has said, it's been obvious for a while that Khan didn't have a good chin when hit, so this has been coming for a while. I just didn't expect it to happen so quickly tonight and in such dramatic style!
Which boxer said in the Echo that Prescott was limited?!
Love the way Frank Warren took responsibility for the match making in the after fight interview, but then swiftly blamed the trainer for picking the fight!
I can see Khan coming back as he's so young, but he's going to be as nervous and scared as Audley Harrison in future and I don't expect to see him fighting aggressively any more as he'll have this KO on his mind.

Re: Sky and Amir Khan... cheeky Bastards.
Khan might as well pack up right now or resign himself to boxing at British title level, there is no way that chin is going to get him anywhere. He can improve his defense as much as he wants, but sooner or later in a fight he will get tagged.
Khan shares the same division as Nate Campbell, Casamayor and the daddy of them all Manny Pac who would juin ruin Khan. Going up a division or two sees Hatton, Margarito, Cotto and Shane fucking Mosley waiting for him, so nowhere to go there then.
It's all a bit unfortunate as he does have a good punch and some very good skills, he's just let down in the one area he can do nothing about.

Re: Sky and Amir Khan... cheeky Bastards.
Our local ordered the fight and put on a late bar until 1am in anticipation of the fight going the distance. As soon as Khan went down, the landlady said that there would be no late bar and they would be shutting at 12 as usual.
Fuck off, Khan. Couldn't even last a couple of rounds to get a few late bevvies in.

Re: Sky and Amir Khan... cheeky Bastards.
I thought Khan would get beat, backed Prescott at 7/1. Didn't think he'd get knocked out in the 1st though.
Some of the odds I saw were staggering, Khan was 1/20! A chinny fighter v a puncher is never a good match up, how the fuck did the bookies get it so wrong?
I went to the fight, the ticket cost £36, so I was gutted the fight was over so quickly. Good job my winnings cover what I spent.

Re: Sky and Amir Khan... cheeky Bastards.
I didn't know anything about Khan's opponent but a couple of weeks back SSN did a piece on him at his home. The lad was living in poverty and there were plenty of young mouths to be fed within his family. I knew then that Khan was in trouble.

it is great fu though, the great hype, the new box office smash, simply cannot take a punch
i agree with you 100% Kelster,
the one good thing about him being beaten, is he now cant duck the british title holder, and the other british title contenders, isnt your man James Murray from Manchester the british holder in that division? he`d knock Khan out, they where talking up a fight with Alex Arthur, Arthur is past his best, but again, has a decent punch, and the law of averages mean he`ll land at leasta few good pucnhes on the button ,and again, he`d knock Khan out, and who`s the other young lad, Kevin mitchell, from London, he`s another fighter they where trying to avoid, he`d spark Khan out as well,
id be shocked if Khan comes back stronger from this, i really do, ive nothing against the lad himself, but he belived his hype too much, believed he was so great, that he didnt need to defend, believed he was so great, he asked for so much bloody money, that terrestial TV couldnt even afford him anymore, he really has imploded by surrounding himself with ball lickers
